Dehradun: Rotary in India through “Rotary India Literacy Mission” has embarked upon one of the most comprehensive programs on Total Literacy and Quality Education. In this mammoth endeavor, RILM has joined hands with a wide range of stakeholders, including the Central and State Governments, sister organizations of the Rotary family like the Association of Inner Wheel Clubs of India, Rotaractors, Interactors, Rotary Community Corps, corporate as well as a variety of non-governmental organizations. Rotary also believes that the teachers should also undergo regular training programs and also should share their values and learning among themselves. Rotary has played the most vital role in eradicating polio from India and now the aim is 100% literacy.
Rotary Club Dehradun Central, on the International Literacy Day extended a helping hand to Ram Pyari Arya Kanya Inter College by setting up a library in the premises that will support the education of over 300 students. Past Rotary District Governor Rtn. Col. Dilip Patnaik, President Pranav Sahni, Vice President Saket Ahuja, Secretary Atul Kumar, Treasurer Gurpreet Wasu , Rtns Mohit Khandelwal, Rtn RK Bhaskar , Rtn Kailash Gulati and other members were present on the occasion.on the occasion.
